From 30th May until 1st June, IIIT East and Southeast Asia had organized ASEAN Youth Symposium at Institut Aminuddin Baki (IAB), Genting Highlands. This event was supported by Ministry of Education Malaysia and International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). This event assembled 130 students studying in Malaysia from various countries in ASEAN such as Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Indonesia, Malaysia and the Phillippines. With the theme “Building dreams foundation for collective future success,” the objective of the symposium is to understand the principles and practices of public sector governance and to develop interpersonal skills and leadership qualities for the betterment of Muslims community. The participants were divided into several groups for discussion on the topic minority rights according to the constitution of selected countries and asked to present their discussion. They also invited to share on the challenges of the youth in each country.
