From 22th December to 23rd December 2024, IIIT East and Southeast Asia had organized a workshop at Hotel Colmar Tropicale, Bukit Tinggi for IIUM lecturers who had become the recipient of Strategic Research Project (SRP) for the year 2024. This year theme for the project is on the Maqasid Shariah and the application of MADANI principles. This project had been ongoing since 2020 with aims to toward building a database for important references that represent Islamic point of reference on selected discipline. For 2024, 25 projects had been selected to receive SRP grant.

The workshop was handled by Professor Dr. Roslina Othman from Kuliyyah of ICT, IIUM. She is an expert on Bibliometric and Systematic Literature Review.
