On 18th July 2024, International Institute of Islamic Thought (IIIT) with collaboration from CPPFS and ISTAC-IIUM had organized Public Lecture entitled “The Grammar of Islamophobia” presented by Dr Shamim Miah, Senior Lecturer of University of Huddersfield. This lecture was done in conjunction with Bias and Edcuation Roundtable Discussion. This initiatives is the continuation from International Forum on Islamophobia: Meaningful Engagement Through Madani Disccourse that was held at Putrajaya on 27th February 2023.
This discussion brings together several scholars in Malaysia and around the world to help devise curriculum in university to combat bias and Islamophobia. The lecture was also used as an opportunity to launch The Postnormal Times Reader Volume 2 edited by Prof Ziauddin Sardar, Shamim Miah and Scott Jordan. The launching was officiated by Minister of Higher Education, Dr Zambry Kadir, Minister of Education, Fadhlina Sidek and Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs, Dr Zulkifli Hasan. Twenty University Vice Chancellors and their representatives also attended the lecture and special discussions.
